Extra scholarship resources?

Question
Hello Friend,
I am going to be a high school senior in the fall of 2008 for the school year I was hoping you could reccommend scholarship resources, I have already registered with fastweb.com, cappex.com and some other sites but I can't seem to find anything.
Sincerely,
Student XYZ

Answer
Dear Student XYZ,

You've definitely got a good start with those sites. NelNet also offers another scholarship search engine. However, sometimes search engines like that give TOO much info, which makes it difficult to sort through. Have you tried searching for scholarships directly based on your interests? For example, I was a Boy Scout so I Googled things like 'boy scouts scholarships'; 'scouting scholarships'; 'bsa scholarships.' which ultimately led me to apply to 2 scholarships, among others found here http://www.scouter.com/compass/Scouting_Organizations/Boy_Scouts_of_America/Scholarships/

That was just off of a Google search for keywords that included my interest/the word 'scholarships'. Another strategy is to Google big company names and search for either 'community relations' or 'scholarships.' Companies like Coca Cola, Prudential, Burger King, Best Buy and MANY more give out a lot of scholarship money, but unless it's a major one, it may not show up in search engines. Also, some times you have to be an employee or the child of an employee of these companies, but not always.
